World Ozone Day Celebration
Open for all students
The IISU Chemical Association of the Department of Chemistry is celebrating World Ozone Day on 16 September 2025. The theme for the celebration is “From Science to Global Action” which highlights the importance of scientific understanding in driving global efforts to protect the ozone layer and address climate change.
In order to celebrate World Ozone Day 2025, the department is organizing following activities on the above themes as per the details given below.

Activities:
- Meme making competition
- Green Glam: Style for Sustainability
- Chem Tambola
Note for chemistry students:
- It is compulsory for all the students of BSc, BSc (H) Chemistry to participate in either meme making competition or Green Glam. The participation in an activity will be considered for the assignment component of continuous assessment.
The details of each event are given below:
- Meme making competition
- Time: 10.30 am
- Team size: Not more than two, although individual participation is also allowed.
- Time Limit: 1 Hour
- Students are required to bring A4 sized sheet along with required materials to create a meme on the given theme at venue.
- The display of the meme must adhere to the theme of the event expressing their ideas.
- Meme should be well organized, clean, legible with clear visibility
- The memes will be judged on basis of creativity, originality, relevance to the theme, clarity of presentation and overall impact.
- The students are required to reach the venue at least half an hour before the scheduled time.

- Green Glam: Style for Sustainability
- Time: 10 am
- Team Size: The team consists of 2 members
- Time Limit: 2 Hours
- Presentation:
- Teams must style a head-to-toe look based on a given theme, incorporating hairstyle, makeup, and accessories.
- Costumes should be creative, chemistry/environment-related (use of waste/recyclable materials will be encouraged).
- Placards, props, and small models can be used (but must be safe and non-hazardous).
- A ramp walk will follow the styling to present the looks.
- The judgement will be based on creativity, relevance to the theme, visual appeal and presentation.
- The students are required to reach the venue at least half an hour before the scheduled time.

- Chem Tambola- It is a fun-filled and knowledge-enriching event. This unique game blends the excitement of Tambola with the concepts of Chemistry, making learning both enjoyable and competitive. Students will get a chance to test their subject knowledge while engaging in an interactive and entertaining activity.
