Hall where the students of Semester V (UG) and Semester III (PG) warmly welcomed the new students to the department. The sessions began with a formal introduction of the faculty members. Dr. Pragya Sinha, HOD, gave a PowerPoint presentation to brief them about the faculty profile, departmental website, time-table, location of the department/classes/labs, departmental activities/calendar, structure of course curricula and subject-wise credits, programme outcomes (POs) & learning outcomes (LOs), scheme of examination (CA & SEE), assessment & evaluation pattern, library system and online access.

Through the presentation, it was highlighted that while working in a chemical laboratory, safety rules must be followed at all times. The chemical laboratory is not necessarily a dangerous place. Intelligent precautions and a proper understanding of techniques are a requisite to work in a safe environment. Students were quizzed on common safety rules and were briefed about their ethical responsibilities and duties towards themselves and their fellow co-workers. A lab safety manual was also circulated for their perusal and a  link to safety guidelines was shared with them.
