Department of Chemistry, ICG ,organized a guest lecture on “Substitution reaction and metallation.” The resource person was Dr. Jacques Morter, Prof. of Chemistry in University of De.Mannes, France.
Dr. Morter talked about Electrophilic substitution reaction and metallation reaction and created a firm base on the topic. He introduced the concept with a very basic electrophilic substitution on aromatic substrates. He further dealt with the importance of metallation in enhancing the reaction rates in electrophilic substitutions.
The lecture was very informative to all U.G. and P.G. students of the chemistry department as well as to the faculty members.
