Objectives: To provide attendees with an overview of the various research opportunities available in universities abroad across disciplines and finding suitable research mentors abroad. The lecture provides an academic, professional, and personal growth benefits from engaging in international research environments. Also highlights prominent foreign universities and research programs known for excellence and innovation. By the end, students will have a clearer understanding to align their academic interests and long-term goals with research opportunities at abroad and be better equipped to discuss common barriers like cultural adaptation, visa issues, and homesickness, and strategies to handle them.
Summary/Description: The Department of Chemistry organized a guest lecture on 8th January 2025 on the topic “Research opportunities in foreign Universities” all the graduate, postgraduate and research scholars of sciences in AV Hall, IIS (Deemed to be University). The session was conducted by Dr. Shweta Choudhary, CSci MRSC, University of York, a proud alumna of the department and a distinguished academic with significant international research experience. The event began with a warm welcome by Dr. Manisha Patni, Head, Department of Chemistry, who expressed her pride and delight in inviting back a former student as a guest speaker. Dr. Patni highlighted Dr. Choudhary's academic achievements and her journey from a student of the department to a global researcher. Dr. Shweta Choudhary delivered an insightful and motivating lecture focusing on various aspects of pursuing research abroad.
