Chemistry Laboratory III (Practical)
|
CO36: Synthesize organic compounds and, purify them using various solvents, including water, alcohol, and alcohol-water mixtures for crystallization. CO37: Determine the melting points of organic compounds, and evaluate the effect of impurities on melting point. CO38: Apply distillation and capillary methods to determine the boiling points of liquid compounds. CO39: Separate the components of a given mixture using paper and thin layer chromatography (TLC). CO40: Compile and report the results efficiently, and develop communications skills. CO41: Contribute effectively in course-specific interaction. |
Approach in teaching: Power point presentation, laboratory instructions and demonstrations.
Learning activities for the students: Peer learning, hands-on-learning, interpretation of data, record writing and learning through virtual labs.
