Quantitative analysis (any five)

  1. Determination of the percentage and number of hydroxyl groups in an organic compounds by acetylation method.
  2. Estimation of amines/phenols using bromate bromide solution
  3. Determination of iodine and saponification value of an oil sample
  4. Determination of neutralization equivalent of the acid.
  5. Estimation of sulphur by messenger or fusion method.
  6. Estimation of halogen by fusion or stepnow’s method.
  7. Estimation of nitrogen by kjeldahl’s method.

Spectrophotometric Estimations

a)     Inorganic Chemistry (any three)

  1. Manganese/chromium in steel.
  2. Nickel/Iron by extractive spectrophotometric method.
  3. Flouride/nitrite/phosphate
  4. Iron-phenanthroline complex: Job’s methods of continuous variation.
