Department of Chemistry, IIS (deemed to be University) organized a series of guest lectures on “Computational Chemistry” for postgraduate students. Lectures were given by Dr. Tanmoy Chakraborty, Associate Prof., Department of Chemistry, Manipal University, Jaipur. He introduced the concept of Computational Chemistry along with its scope in Chemistry. He wonderfully explained different type of methods used in computational chemistry such as electronic structure method, molecular mechanics methods, and density functional methods. In the last lecture he demonstrated the computational procedures to study some simple systems computationally.

Students were enlightened and quite delighted to understand the concept, scope and application of Computational Chemistry.
